Yes another red head!!! Casey will be joining us on staff here at CFSP. He will be taking classes, shadowing, interning, as well as filling in when necessary. (Like tonight) He will be a great fit for CFSP!!

Casey joins us from Buck Town CrossFit in Chicago. Here is a little more about his background.

I have been in the fitness industry for a little over 5 years now. It all started in high school and in college being trained myself by the weight-lifting programs that those schools offered. After a very short career playing college football I decided that I wanted to have a similar influence that my coaches had on me. Weight lifting isn’t just about “getting in shape” or chiseling out rock solid biceps, although those things are great, but it is about discipline, hard work, patience, endurance, and an ethical commitment to something that you believe in. Weightlifting is in a lot of ways a training in life. After becoming certified through the American College of Sports Medicine in sports related exercise I had about a 4.5 year career as a personal trainer, and for a while ran my own  business. Part of that career involved me training my clients out of CrossFit gyms. That is how I became introduced to CrossFit. CrossFit was a pretty natural transition from my training method and the experience I already had as a weightlifter; conditioning and gymnastics took soon time though! Very soon after beginning to do CrossFit myself, I started coaching, and became L1 certified. I’ve been coaching CrossFit for a little over 2 years now and its been a blast.
